The Versatile Epidemiological Observatory (VEO) project, MOOD’s sister project, is organizing the VEO Symposium 2022, in The Hague, The Netherlands on 17 & 18 May 2022. The Young VEO Conference will be held in The Hague, The Netherlands on 16 May 2022.

Besides a highly topical and interesting scientific programme, VEO has reserved ample time for social activities and networking, since this is the first in-person meeting of VEO.

About the VEO project

A Versatile Emerging infectious disease Observatory (VEO) will be created for the generation and distribution of high-quality actionable information for evidence-based early warning, risk assessment and monitoring of emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

VEO will be (co)designed and tested through five scenarios, reflecting main pathways of disease emergence, to attune developments to the needs of its intended users, and obtain proof of the principle of utility, including ethical, legal and social implications.

VEO & MOOD

The European Commission awarded two grants under the H2020 program to VEO and MOOD in 2020. The call was aimed at “Mining big data for early detection of infectious disease threats driven by climate change and other factors”. Now the two projects collaborate annually and organize joint meetings.
