About
MOOD’s partner, the Internation Society for Infectious Disease, is organizing an international conference -IMED 2021, that will be held virtually from November 4-6, 2021. In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and to allow global participation, IMED 2021 is once again sharing breakthroughs in the emerging diseases community with leading scientists, clinicians, policymakers, veterinarians, and ecologists. Given IMED’s One Health focus, content aims at discussing how to detect, monitor, understand, prevent, and respond to outbreaks of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases and toxic exposures across all species and regions of the world.
MOOD participation
In contribution to the IMED 2021, MOOD is participating with 1 oral presentation: “Co-circulation of SARS-CoV-2 Variants of Concern Alpha and Gamma in Italy“, by MOOD partners Paola Stefanelli, Filippo Trentini, Giorgio Guzzetta, Mattia Manica , Valentina Marziano, Martina Del Manso, Xanthi Andrianou, Marco Ajelli, Gianni Rezza, Silvio Brusaferro, and Stefano Merler.
In addition, Mathieu Roche (CIRAD, France) is contributing with his talk “Mining Online and Social Media to Analyze Epidemic Periods” to the Scientific Session 01 on day 1: The Impact of Media and Politics on Outbreak Preparedness and Contro, available starting at 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM CET I midnight – 01:00 AM EST.
IMED 2021 will feature more than 300 ePosters across all areas of interest to registered IMED 2021 attendees. ePoster presentations will be available to registered attendees only and include audio/video presentation options for presenting authors.

Pre-recorded sessions will be made live every evening at midnight EST for registered/paid attendees and can be viewed any time during the conference period and will be available for 3 months after the conclusion of the conference. Q&A periods will not be live and questions can be sent to presenters which will be answered via email.
